A suspect who stole a car with a baby inside, before abandoning it on the sidewalk, in the west of the island of Montreal is actively sought by the police.
The crime was committed around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Boulevard Gouin Ouest and Rue Alexander, in the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro.
According to our information, the suspect took advantage of a moment of inattention on the part of a mother to steal her car, a white Mazda 3.
The thief allegedly fled in the vehicle, possibly unaware that a baby, only one year old, was in his shell in the back seat.
He finally abandoned the baby in his shell on a sidewalk during his escape. The child was not injured.
The suspect then drove for a distance of several kilometers, before being involved in a collision around 8:40 a.m., near the intersection of Crémazie Boulevard and Saint-Urbain Street. In particular, he allegedly ran into a post.
The individual finally abandoned the stolen vehicle, with a flat tire in the front, in the middle of rue Saint-Urbain, before fleeing on foot.
By mid-morning, he had still not been found by the police.
The police were looking for a black man who was wearing white sneakers.
