A young 17-year-old man was shot and killed this Sunday, November 17, 2024, in the afternoon during a fight in Rumilly (Haute-Savoie), indicated the prosecution.

“Several young people took part in a fight in the city center” and one of them, aged 17, was killed “by firearm”, specified the prosecution, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré. Another 20-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to Annecy hospital. “His vital prognosis is in jeopardy,” underlined the prosecution. No arrests have been made “at this stage”, according to him.

A fight

According to France Blue Pays of Savoy, the brawl apparently broke out around 4:30 p.m. in the city center of Rumilly (16,000 inhabitants), in a very busy place, particularly by families with children.

At least five individuals were involved in the fight which lasted several minutes.

The flagrant murder investigation was entrusted to the research section of the Chambéry gendarmerie. On site, a psychological unit will be set up for witnesses.
