The management of gendarmerie premises differs from one department to another. Of the 3 728 barracks occupied on the national territory, alone 649 are state property. The other 3,079 premises belong to municipalities, intercos, Departments but also to social landlords such as in Marne, Aisne or Ardennes. And it is on this side that the rents for the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2024 have not been paid to the owners.
