It is on the eastern reliefs, and in the North of France, that snow is most likely to fall next week, in particular on Thursday November 21.

WEATHER – France will regain its white winter coat. After a nice drop in the mercury that began this weekend, the weather for the week of November 18 looks set to be particularly wintry, with cool temperatures in the morning and during the day. Snow will fall in the mountains and probably even in the plains in the middle of the week.

As you can see in the map belowshared by meteorologist Guillaume Séchet, it is in the East and the north that the weather will be most conducive to snowfall. “If the risk of snow will be rather confined to the eastern reliefs at the start of the week, it should gradually spread towards the plains from Wednesday November 20 (…) and spread to the regions from the north between Thursday and Friday »he explains on his Meteo-villes site.

On the other hand, more abundant snowfall is expected in the Alps, the Vosges and the Jura.

A few flakes in and Île-de-France?

The models are more uncertain for the west of the country, but in Brittany too, we can expect a few showers of snow on Wednesday or Thursday. “A few flakes mixed with rain are not excluded on the heights of the Monts d'Arrée and Côtes-d'Armor or even in Coglais and the country of Fougères due to isothermal conditions”, indicates in this regard Météo Bretagne.

Uncertainties also loom over Île-de-France. Even though temperatures will be close to freezing on Wednesday, Météo France is currently leaning more towards rain than snow. A few flakes on Thursday in () and Nangis (Seine-et-), then Friday in Milly-la-Forêt (Essonne) cannot be ruled out, specifies Actu .

In terms of temperatures, a significant cold snap is therefore expected from Wednesday, which will give the thermometer “ a more wintery character ». In the morning, it will be 2°C in or , 5°C in Paris and , or even 10°C in . And those temperatures will only rise by just a degree or two in the afternoon. Milder temperatures are, however, expected for the following week.
