This time, it's really gone again. After several weeks of turning over, covering or moving panels (among others), the farmers of Tarn get back into action in a more classic way: by demonstrating with tractors. And they do it in dispersed order. Like last year during the major agricultural demonstrations, the national movement started from Occitanie. In Tarn for the panels, in Haute-Garonne for the blockages.

And like last year, the unions are moving forward each on their own according to their political side (among others). It must be said that the elections in the chambers of agriculture are approaching. It will be in January 2025… But the anger is real. And shared.

The Peasant Confederation opens the ball

Friday November 15, 2024 is the Peasant Confederation who opened the ball by demonstrating in Castres, at the roundabout at the exit of the Mélou area. With a designated enemy: Mercosur. The union has long been engaged against free trade agreements. And he never hesitates to tackle the attitude of other unions, which he considers fickle.

In the presence of a few sheep, the activists distributed leaflets.

The JA and the FDSEA will set the fire on Monday

A light first round before much stronger actions Monday November 18. That day, it is the two largest unions, the Young Farmers and the FDSEA, always allies, which will enter the scene. How ? By meeting as many tractors as possible from midday on the service between the Gaillaguès roundabout and the Arquipeyre roundabout in Lescure-d'Albigeois north of .

If they haven't revealed everything about their program, we already know that they could set fire to several places. And not just in Albi. And this in the first sense of the term. Fires started intentionally…

Rural coordination up to the prefecture

Like last year, these actions have a beginning, but no scheduled end. We must therefore expect to see blockages and fires for several days (weeks?) in the department.

And it's going to get tougher Tuesday November 19 with the arrival of Rural Coordination, the most right-wing union.

A convoy will leave the Innoprod zone around 1:20 p.m. to reach the prefecture around 2 p.m. The farmers then plan to stay a long time since a grill is scheduled for the evening.
