Figures for domestic violence in Haute-Savoie

The Ministry of the Interior published a few weeks ago the figures for domestic violence in France, which increased by 10% between 2022 and 2023.In France in 2023, the security services recorded 271,000 victims of violence committed by their partner or ex-partner, an increase of 10% compared to 2022, close to the average annual rate of change observed since 2019 (i.e. 13 %)“, it is specified in the report.

In Haute-Savoie, the report mentions the figure of 8.4 victims per 1,000 inhabitants, behind the departments most affected by this scourge which are Pas-de-Calais, Réunion, Le Nord and Seine-Saint-Denis. . However, according to the report, only one in seven victims of domestic violence reported this attack to the security services.

According to ministry figures, 85% of victims are women, and 64% of the violence is physical, and 31% verbal.
