A true drama of solitude. Wednesday November 6, the body of a woman in her sixties was discovered in her apartment in the Baud Chardonnet district, in Rennes. His death was at least several weeks ago – confirming information from Ouest-France.
It was a neighbor who was the first to raise the alarm. “A terrible smell of putrefaction had begun to emerge from the floors for a few days,” says Guillaume. “I ended up going to the apartment where the smell was coming from and I saw maggots coming out of the door.”
A neighborhood in shock
Immediately alerted, the emergency services intervened on the spot and discovered a macabre scene inside the apartment. “The police told me that they have rarely seen such a decomposed body,” says Guillaume. The victim died of natural causes. His son, under guardianship, was immediately informed.
The news caused a stir in this recent neighborhood. “People are really shocked,” confides Linda, manager of an organic store. “The lady regularly came to my business to do her shopping. It’s really very sad.”
In the residence where the tragedy took place, the occupants support each other and try to cope with the larvae which have invaded several floors. “I spend sleepless nights kicking them out, they come in through the plinths,” confides Guillaume. No cleaning of the common areas has yet been carried out. Coarse salt, towels and sheets were placed in the corridors outside the doors to prevent the larvae from entering the accommodation.
Contacted the co-ownership trustee of the residence and clarified that a request for disinfection had been made for all of the common areas. “A first quote was made with a specialized company. We keep residents informed daily.” All floors should be treated soon.
