Amateur Rugby trophies 2024 in Tarn: Record trophies, discover the story of the awards ceremony and the winners of the 4th edition

Ces 4^es Tarn amateur rugby trophies were special this year. For the first time, all the clubs in the department attended this event, the awards ceremony of which took place this Wednesday evening at the Forum de Graulhet. “These trophies are always a highlight of the season. They celebrate each year this idyll still intact between La Dépêche du Midi and amateur rugby, which is confirmed every weekend at the edge of the pitches”, underlines Guillaume Kempf, departmental manager of Tarn.

And if all these clubs did not leave with a trophy in their hands, reserved for the players who received the most votes in the nine categories submitted to votes by Internet users, or for the winners of the six special prizes, they were all rewarded via one of their volunteers. In total, 31 of them took to the stage to receive a special medal, thus saluting the work of these men and women whose presence is vital to rugby. And these will not be the cases of Gaillac Henri Fraysse and Graulhétois Henri Auriol, two figures of their respective clubs honored by the committee prize, who will contradict the thesis of volunteers materializing the base of this sport, and of sports in general.

Special also these Trophies, because they were the last of Alain Rey as president of the committee, he who spent eight years at the head of rugby 81, and a bunch of additional years through other missions . “It hurts my heart,” admitted Alain Rey. “But I am not going to leave them, and I will accompany them. I will not be on the field, but I will take my place on the bench.”

In addition to the participation of all the Tarn clubs, the success of this event can be measured by its impact on the La Dépêche du Midi website. More than 15,000 votes were recorded for this edition, a much better result than last year (12,000), which was already a record.

And if there is one that has broken records in recent times, it is the Tarn team, cited, congratulated and crowned this Wednesday evening. With the culmination of this historic raid on the Tarn during the Orange Rugby Challenge, won among the girls by the U12s of the Albi/Graulhet agreement, and among the boys by the U12s of the CO. National 2 and Federal 1: Adrien Vert (Graulhet)

Adrien Vert's good year continued this Wednesday evening, in the city he knows so well since he plays there as a third row. The 25-year-old, who made his first selection with Algeria in February, won the National 2 and Federal 1 player trophy, awarded by the Evelyne agency. A great reward for this essential element of the SCG.

Federal 3 and Regional 1: Kévin Olivier (Montredon)

A Federal 3 and Regional 1 player trophy, sponsored by Rybicki Construction, which should further encourage him in his goal of returning to the field. His career put on hold due to cancer, Kévin Olivier, absent this Wednesday evening and represented by his coach Rodrigo Capo Ortega, remained involved with Olympique Montredonnais by training his friends from the senior group.

Regional 2: Damien Greffier (Lisle)

A young rugby school in the making. And this trophy, sponsored by Ecouter Voir and Evelyne, highlights all the work carried out by the Sidobre Montagne XV club. Parents and educators, like senior players, are always at the bedside of the young shoots of the merger between Vabre and Brassac. As the young people are there to encourage the adults.
