After tales and legends from the Haut-Marne region, ''La Sauterelle'' gives us bouquets of stories from his childhood in Montribourg. Sylvie Froger immerses us in pages that smell of the countryside.
Young girl with a very spontaneous character, a boundless imagination, and skin-deep sensitivity, Sylvie Froger experienced a childhood close to nature where education took place in contact with flora and fauna, all awakened by a grandfather with a strong temperament and rich in personal experiences. Could we have had a better education for life? The nickname of ''Grasshopper''which he gives her suits him perfectly.
Young years overflowing with life
With or without her initiating grandfather, the aptly named woman ran through the woods, crossed the fields, rubbed shoulders with the bushes, raised hares in the fresh air, surprised deer drinking at the edge of wild ponds. … Young Sylvie expressed her character loud and clear, pushed her revolt without restraint, laughed as much as cried… She devoured childhood to the fullest, lived her adolescence to the fullest. Now, Sylvie Froger recounts with powerful feeling her young years overflowing with life in the Haut-Marne countryside. Thus forged, how can you not love the deep Haute-Marne so much?
History blower
In 2023, Sylvie Froger, as a storyteller, first published tales and legends from Haute-Marne colored by her pen. These were: the legend of Gengouph who became a saint, those of the horse Bayard, of the three Twins, of the witches of Chalindrey, of Berchaire au Der… and some other memorable stories from the Haut-Marne country adapted to his way of writing.
Sylvie Froger put all her youthful soul into it by wondering about the part of reality to decipher, to remember. Now, the author gives us bouquets of memories from her early country childhood with the help of her grandfather and her parents. Here also: nostalgia for Haute-Marne made in Scotland, then a sequel to an acquired taste for tales and legends.
Flash-back
In this flashback to Montribourg, near Châteauvillain, there are sounds of nocturnal birds, the presence of domestic animals. There are flavors (those of strawberries, milk froth from cow milking), aromas of wild flowers picked by armfuls. There is deep countryside with the scent of hay for a grasshopper's life. In this book, there is a vitality of writing as there is an energy of life.
