Here is a judgment from the administrative court of Châlons-en-Champagne which will not patch up the two enemy brothers of the municipal council of Sézanne, namely Sacha Hewakthe mayor, and Vincent Leglantieropposition municipal councilor.
After the exclusion of the elected official by the mayor during a municipal council meeting December 14, 2022the court finally gave its verdict. “On November 5, 2024, he judged that Mr. Hewak’s decision constituted an excess of power,” explains Vincent Léglantier.
The court therefore decided: to cancel it as well as several deliberations of the same day adopted in my absence since they were illegally excluded,” continues Vincent Léglantier. “The commune of Sézanne was ordered to pay me a sum of 1 500 euros in reimbursement of part of the legal fees that I was forced to incur to defend myself. »
The reasons for the quarrel
But what are the reasons for this quarrel? During this municipal council, Vincent Léglantier opposed the mayor on the subject municipal service vehicles. “This expulsion occurred during a debate during which I denounced the illegal, irregular and abusive allocation of service vehicles. I was content with ask for a little transparencyhe confides. On the evening of this exclusion, the municipal majority refused my proposed deliberation aimed at setting up logbooks in the vehicles in question in order to control their use. Debate in which I was unable to participate since I was ousted.”
And to continue: “Since the start of the new mandate, Mr. Hewak and his majority have continued to make me appear as an elected official who would not respect the proper conduct of the sessions. Except that to this day, the one who does not want to broadcast the municipal council sessions and who has caused the city to be condemned for violating an elementary democratic rule is Mr. Hewak.”
