Victim of two cardiac arrests twelve years apart, she is saved by the same firefighter

Bound by destiny. Juliette, a 26-year-old physiotherapist based in Gironde, certainly has a guardian angel. She even knows him, since he saved her life twice, says France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The first time was in 2012. Juliette, then 14 years old, suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of class at Saint-André college in Bordeaux. Thanks to a defibrillator, Martial, a firefighter, brought her back to life.

Luckily, the young woman suffered no after-effects from this accident. This impactful experience motivated her to work in the health sector. “I like meeting people, listening to them, supporting them and helping them. What I like is understanding how the human body works,” she told our colleagues.

“It’s incredible”

Since then, Juliette has opened her office in the town of Ambarès-et-Lagrave. “One day, I saw a professional firefighter patient during a consultation. I showed him a photograph of the emergency services who took care of me in 2012. And he immediately recognized Martial,” said the young woman.
