Every day, “DL” highlights a personality whose birthday it is and who takes stock of their personal activity, their association, their company or their sports club. Today, “DL” wishes a happy birthday to Fanny Petit Van-Tornhout, assistant at the Dordogne filming reception office. On this Thursday, November 14, she celebrated her 39th birthday.
What does your job as an assistant at the Dordogne filming reception office involve?
My mission is to promote the Dordogne department in all its diversity to production companies. The department has hosted films since 1928, and I strive to perpetuate this tradition. I want to show that we have enormous resources, richness in our landscapes, that there is a whole underground world to explore.
Why did you choose to work in this universe?
Because I have been passionate about cinema since my early childhood and I also have the Dordogne close to my heart. I like to highlight the beauty of my department and praise it. I have an open-air playground that is exceptional.
How does your inventiveness translate?
For example, we have to find a landing place for a space capsule during a filming which will take place in 2025. We also found sets to make us think of the planet Mars for a film in 2018. I like it discover unusual places.
What can we give you for your birthday?
Lots of filming for 2025 with always great encounters, whether professional or associative. And that people are closer and help each other more.
