The General Directorate for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) and the National Housing Agency (ANAH) are strengthening their controls and reminding people of the right actions to adopt to successfully renovate your home's energy efficiency, in particular by calling on France Rénov'.
DGCCRF agents have in fact noted, as part of their investigations, the recurrence of certain fraudulent practices: incomplete or misleading pre-contractual information; illicit telephone canvassing; aggressive commercial canvassing strategy targeted at vulnerable audiences and based on misleading arguments; credit subscription without the consumer's knowledge.
To guarantee the quality of the work and protect households, ANAH has also strengthened its controls on subsidy applications.
This is why the DGCCRF and ANAH call for the greatest vigilance and invite consumers to:
. systematically obtain information from a France Rénov' advisor before embarking on energy renovation work;
. be very vigilant when canvassing;
. use the Rénov' Simulator tool, available on the France-renov.gouv.fr platform;
. take the time to compare quotes from several companies;
. be wary of the effects of announcements on the amount of aid and promised energy savings;
. do not sign a quote before validation of the file by the ANAH, in the event of a subsidy request;
. do not sign the certificate of completion of work before it is completely finished, especially if a loan has been taken out.
In the event of a dispute, consumers are invited to file a report via the SignalConso site or application.
