Fernand Soler was honored at the DDEN du assembly

The Departmental Delegate of National Education (DDEN) is “a friend from public school” appointed to ensure good living conditions for children, in and around school.

Its role extends to everything relating to school life, in particular respect for secularism.

The delegate exercises a mission of encouragement and coordination. He strives to facilitate relations between the school and the municipality.

The DDEN du therefore took advantage of the holding of their general assembly, Saturday November 9, in the town, to honor the oldest of them. Fernand Soler holds the national record for duration in this field with 44 years of volunteering.

He already holds the rank of Commander of the Academic Palms (the highest level that exists), he is also an officer of the National Order of Merit and a youth and sports medalist. Fernand Soler has always liked taking care of others. At the age of 16, he supervised the young people of the Secular Association's recreational center, of which he later became president. He then served as municipal councilor and then deputy mayor, still in Saint-Gilles. Like his father, in Algeria, he served throughout his professional life in the territorial civil service, at the Gard departmental council. He received the DDEN medal of honor from President Didier Bucchi, witness to the recognition of his peers.
