Since around 3:30 p.m., this Tuesday, November 12, 2024, a rescue operation took place under the Jeanne-d'Arc bridge in Rouen (Seine-Maritime). An 82-year-old pedestrian was hit by a fire engine and died. The national police and then the public prosecutor's office went to the scene.
The accident apparently took place while firefighters were carrying out a reconnaissance maneuver on the docks.

Traffic is cut off
An investigation into the charge of involuntary manslaughter while driving a vehicle has been entrusted to the national police, announced the public prosecutor of Rouen, Sébastien Gallois, in a press release. And to add that “the usual checks were carried out on the driver: he was in compliance. » The latter, as well as the two other members of his crew, will be auditioned. An autopsy was required and the vehicle was sealed and stored for possible future use.
