Press release. The Land of Art and History Causses and Valley of the Dordogne and the Lot Architecture, Town Planning and Environment Council (CAUE), have designed a booklet to find out everything about the heritage support fund . A wealth of information adapted to the needs of municipalities, concrete examples allow us to understand what is achievable.
Protect heritageSince 2017, the Cauvaldor community of communes has set up a financial support fund for communes for the restoration or safeguarding of heritage of community interest. The community can thus contribute up to 50% of the total amount of the work, capped at €6,000 excluding tax, provided that the municipality contributes at the same level as Cauvaldor (variable rate depending on the interest of the project). This fund contributes to the safeguarding of public heritage not protected under Historic Monuments. This heritage, less identified, is all the more sensitive to destruction, poor restoration or oblivion.
Support projectsThis guide will allow municipalities to know the procedure to follow to obtain this assistance. Throughout the pages, you can consult numerous examples of restored heritage in our territory. The Lavalade bread oven in Frayssinhes, the Gramat dovecote, the fountain and the old Boscau wash house in Prudhomat: so many projects which have benefited from this support fund. The reader browses the guide and also discovers the amount of a real project, the testimonies of elected officials, and also the names of the companies having participated in carrying out the work requested, with the know-how of the time, reflections of the art of local building. In 2024, 11 municipalities were helped by Cauvaldor as part of the heritage restoration support fund for a total amount of €57,729.
