“I give before throwing in the 46”: a brilliant and generous idea that is a hit on Facebook beyond the Lot

the essential
Attention ! Don't throw anything away until you know if the item you are about to condemn cannot benefit from a second life. Aficionados of the Facebook group “I give before throwing in the 46” made this choice. This group was created, at her home in Bagnac-sur-Célé, by Annie Borie. This is to hunt down waste, among other things. His idea “it’s serious” but only in the figurative sense of this expression. Explanations.

Before settling down comfortably in front of her computer screen, in order to create and finalize her Facebook group called “I give before throwing in the 46”, Annie Borie explored her idea. She matured this one well by finding herself faced with the fact… or the misdeed accomplished.

“People throw away perfectly reusable objects in the middle of nature. This is not acceptable. There is the solution of recycling centers. But this is not the only solution. I realized this by going to one of them and observing what was thrown away I saw, for example, a very beautiful bird cage in excellent condition in a dumpster, thrown away never to be used again” testifies. Annie Borie.

Mobilize Lotois against waste and for respect for the environment

This Lotoise doesn't really say it, but she felt offended by these “abandonment of objects”, she who advocates “the hunt for waste, respect for the environment and ecological and economic values.”

His eco-responsible attitude then dictated to him the right attitude to adopt and above all the brilliant idea of creating this Facebook group. “I wanted to mobilize the Lotois, but very quickly my group of which I am the administrator with a friend, Patricia Alexis, grew and went beyond the borders of our department. We currently have 12,251 members precisely in just two days, 51 new members have joined us and it continues to rise,” she rejoices.

A clear economic interest while saving an object from destruction

According to Annie Borie, “people quickly understood the interest of this initiative for them and the planet. They admitted that by finding the object, the piece of furniture, the dishes… that they are missing, they are saving money while saving an object of destruction while it can still be used. This is very satisfying. It is the primary desire of our group” insists Annie.

At the keyboard of her computer, she is proud to strum this symphony without a false note which is above all not macabre music since it saves the lives of objects.

“My job at the computer consists of validating each proposed object donation. These are often furniture, beds, cupboards or small furniture. Everything must be in good condition. I monitor this, as I also ensure that the members of the group do not bargain for the objects It is about offers not sales” emphasizes the administrator of the group.

A very clear line of conduct with which Annie is very vigilant

Uncompromising with the group's charter “I give before throwing in the 46”, Annie does not hesitate for a second to blacklist those who do not respect the very clear line of conduct that she has set.

In the department of juicy and moving anecdotes, Annie evokes the touching example of a lady who was moved by a small rattan coaster that she had at home, long ago, when she was a child.

“This bribe brought back many memories for her. She was very happy to find this object and her memories. She even cried about it, confides Annie.” Another person simply needed a coffee cup. Just one cup. She found happiness in Annie's group.

“I simply put generous people in touch”

“I don't compete with associations that sell things at low prices for the most deprived. I simply put generous people in contact and they make spontaneous donations” declares the inspired founder of this group.

Who can criticize spontaneous generosity? Annie doesn't ask any questions. It only offers positive responses to immediate needs. And all this is more than enough for his happiness.
