A 39-year-old man appeared before the criminal court from AlençonThursday November 7, 2024, for the offense of violating the privacy of private life by fixing, recording or transmitting the image of a person of a sexual nature.

The events took place in the village of Bazoches-sur-Hoëne (Orne), from December 2021 to July 2022.

This 39-year-old man, living as a couple, observed on numerous occasions, from a small window, his neighbor taking a shower in her bathroom.

But he didn't just watch it, he also filmed the scene with his cell phone. The scenario was repeated numerous times during these eight months, generating multiple videos stored on the defendant's phone or on a Google account.

A minor girl

More worrying, the neighbors' little daughter, aged 6, will also be the object of the thirty-year-old's unhealthy curiosity. It was the defendant's partner herself, having discovered the photos on her computer, who immediately notified the police.

He accuses his partner

Knowing he had been unmasked, the man then went to his neighbors to reveal the affair to them and accuse his partner!

During the debates at the Alençon court, while admitting to being the sole author of the facts, the man tried to blame his friend, evoking their very toxic relationship.

The president of the hearing, Amélia Davy-Davoust, and the prosecutor's deputy Hélène Tardif had all the difficulty in the world to get him admitted.

If this degraded relationship can explain erratic behavior, it cannot justify and even less excuse these particularly serious facts.

Aline Bougeard, the civil party's lawyer, insisted on the trauma suffered by the family who now avoids walking in the street for fear of meeting the defendant.

Duty of care

The court sentenced him to eight months' suspended probation, a sentence accompanied by an obligation of care, compensation for the victims, a ban on coming into contact with them and appearing in the town of Bazoches-sur-Hoëne.
