51 people rescued off the coast of Pas-de-

This Sunday, the French authorities provided assistance to several migrant boats in difficulty off the coast of Pas-de-. A total of 51 people were rescued.

Several operations. This Sunday, November 10, 51 migrants, who were trying to cross the Channel, were rescued by the French authorities off the coast of Pas-de-Calais, indicates the maritime prefecture of the Channel and the North Sea in a press release this Monday 11 november.

Assistance operations began on Sunday morning, after “numerous boat departures” were reported to the regional operational surveillance and rescue center (CROSS Gris-Nez).

A helicopter and an SNSM vessel are then engaged to assess the situation of a migrant boat. In distress, the 26 people on board requested emergency assistance, before being taken care of and disembarked in Calais.

A few hours later, the ship Minck was in turn dispatched to monitor a boat. Of the latter, 25 people asked for help, before being taken care of and also disembarked in Calais. The others refused help from the authorities and continued on their way.

Last Thursday, November 7, 60 people were also rescued off the coast of Calais. Wednesday November 6, a lifeless body was discovered on the beach of Calais and two others were recovered at sea. The day before, two other bodies had already been discovered in the Channel.
