A suspect arrested
A suspect, an acquaintance of the victim, was quickly arrested and automatically hospitalized in a psychiatric ward. “He had been at her house since at least the day before,” said Angers public prosecutor Éric Bouillard.
Shortly before her death, the octogenarian had called emergency services to alert them of the violence she was being subjected to. When they arrived, she was dead. The autopsy confirmed that the death was the result of “violent blows,” said Éric Bouillard.
The octogenarian, a widow, lived quite isolated and was taken care of by a home helper.
