She has dreamed of it for a long time and she is going to do it. Marion Bouche, who grew up in Versailles (Yvelines), is preparing to leave for humanitarian trip with the Catholic Delegation for Cooperation (DCC). After a year of preparations, the announcement of the destination of the mission was notified in July 2024.
The 34-year-old from Yvelin will fly, on November 14, to Guinea-Conakry with his spouse. “I always wanted to do volunteering and humanitarian work, especially around the age of 20. I studied, then I worked, and the years passed. »
“I didn’t dare do it alone. It reassures me to go as a couple and it's a great opportunity. I don't have children yet, it's time. »
Help develop a regional radio station for women
This journalist has completed her fixed-term contract in order to devote herself to this future mission, which will last one year, maybe two years. In Africa, she will help with the development and communication of Kadi FM, a regional radio station dedicated to women.
“It was founded by a Guinean called Kadija Bah, a Yvelinoise executive. I will help women to be independent. Various programs will encourage them to become entrepreneurs and to emancipate themselves. We will discuss the health in particular, diseases and excision. 97% of women are subject to it in Guinea. »
“Give my time and energy”
Marion Bouche, who will be paid €350 per month, will be housed in an apartment with her partner. “Small and without a washing machine,” she explains. Conditions will be harshespecially with the temperatures and the mosquitoes. But we really wanted to leave. I want to give of my time and energy. »
