For a long time, Auterrive has organized a march in April, the proceeds of which are donated to the League, but this year, it was a large-scale mobilization that took over the entire village and well beyond, during Pink October. At the origin of this great momentum, a family hard hit by the scourge of cancer. Lucie Pérès lost her mother very young, victim of this illness, so when with her father she became the owner of the bar-restaurant l'Estanquet, a place of meeting and conviviality, she seized the opportunity which had been close to her heart since for a long time, namely getting involved in the Pink October campaign. A large mobilization: the president of the Auch fishing society, the Pavie firefighters, the Auterrive parents' association, the Club football club of Auterrive, the president of the pétanque club of Auterrive and his wife, the musical duo John and Jane Bauld to which we must add the owner of Intermarché who donated the meat for the sandwiches, the bakery “le Fournil Gascon “for the bread, the suppliers of the Estanquet restaurant as well as the population of the village. The sun being out, the atmosphere was even more radiant. At noon, we were lining up waiting for the grills, the restaurant had brought out all its tables and chairs to best accommodate this swarm of guests enjoying these sandwiches.
The organizers planned to raise €1,500 but a check for €3,603 has just been given to the President of the Cancer League of Gers Nadia Benoit, between the day of mobilization and the donations placed in the box throughout of October, knowing that for its part, Estanquet donated 30% of the day's revenue.
Another particularly moving gesture from the Pau family who lost one of their own in October. Instead of the flowers usually offered on this occasion, she offered to make a donation in favor of the League, which resulted in a sum of €567 which was included in the final check.
When we know that Auterrive has only 560 inhabitants and only one business, we can only salute the investment of this village and the generous gesture of the Pau family, whom the League warmly thanks
