They participate in a multisport raid in Guadeloupe in support of the Reine

From November 12 to 17, Hélène Ruiz and Aurélie Fleury are taking part in the Femina Adventure, a race in the great outdoors which also allows them to raise funds for two associations supporting women fighting cancer.

“We’ve been on the project for a year!” Hélène Ruiz and her teammate Aurélie Fleury finally reach their goal. Their duo will line up at the start of the Fémina Adventure 2024. This 100% female multisport raid will be held from November 12 to 17 in Guadeloupe. Six days including four and a half events: trail, swim and run, kayak, orienteering, coastering (canyoning by the sea), abseiling.

“We will have two to three disciplines per day but we will only discover the precise program once theretestifies Hélène, 35 years old, former high-level swimmer, “who took up open water swimming again”. The strong point of Aurélie, 37 years old, is rather running. “And our common apprehension is kayaking!”

“The principle of this raid is to stay together no matter what happens. It's an asset to know each other well when things get difficult. Plus, we complement each other very well.” We guess that the ranking will be less important than reaching the end of this adventure. “But we still set a small goal that we’re keeping secret!”

They support the Queen…

Team No. 35 is called “Kangirls Jump”, named after “kangoo jumps” ®, these spring shoes that they have worn many times. They allow you to train physically while cushioning impacts.

“Kangirls jumps” is also the name of the sports association co-chaired by the two Montpellier women. “We support our partner association, Montpellier Reine, and in particular its solidarity network which works all year round to support women during their care journeys.”

Beyond that, it is the fight against cancer that they support. “We have difficulty uniting around this cause. It is unfortunate to see that cancer is still taboo in 2024. However, the earlier it is detected, the better it is taken care of.”

“In the end, we hope to donate €1,000 to Montpellier Reine thanks to this raid. We have already raised a nice sum during an evening with AOP Languedoc.”

…and an association in Guadeloupe

Part of the funds from this race will also be donated to the Amazones de Guadeloupe, an association which supports Guadeloupean women suffering from cancer throughout their treatment journey.

“In a year of transition in our personal and professional lives”Hélène and Aurélie spent a lot of time training physically and organizing events to raise funds. Both to finance the registration cost, which is €5,500 per team, and to support the two associations.

In Guadeloupe, they will also represent two of their friends. “They were supposed to take part in the raid but it couldn’t happen”they regret. For Hélène, finally, this first raid promises to be all the more beautiful as it will also be her first big trip!
