The CCI du Lot organizes the first “Orientation Night” in Pradines

The CCI* network of France has been organizing “ Orientation Nights » as part of Career Discovery Month. Last year, 52 Nights organized across the country brought together nearly 114,000 visitors.

The CCI du Lot finally takes the plunge by organizing the first “Orientation Night” of the Lot on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the La Prade room has Initial. “We observed that these Nights work well in other departments. We said to ourselves that it was wise to set up this event in the Lot” explains Jean Hugon, president of the CCI du Lot.

1st “Orientation Night” of the Lot

The “Orientation Night” is aimed at all those who have questions about their orientation, young people (middle school students, high school students, students) but also people in professional retraining. In the form of « speed dating »participants can discuss with the professional about their profession, its advantages, its constraints, the remuneration, etc. The objective is to present the professions in complete honesty and to arouse desire. An essential approach for many professionals currently facing recruitment difficulties. “It’s a real problem. The recruitment problem is becoming more and more serious. To recruit well, you need to inform young people well. We need to demystify the professions,” explains Jean Hugon.

The first “Orientation Night” will bring together nearly 80 professionals in a wide variety of professions : justice, banking, insurance, army, security, agriculture, construction, health, social, commerce, industry, sport, entertainment… Participants will be able to discover lesser-known professions, such as rope access technician and mixologist.

“Orientation Night” is not a career or training fair. Here, no school represented nor job offers offered. “The goal is to introduce people to professions. It’s an additional device,” adds the president of the Lot CCI.

Thematic workshops

The CCI invited numerous partners to participate in the event. Visitors will be able to meet guidance counselors and career development advisors to answer questions and guide them.

Thematic workshops will be organized: CIDFF du Lot (Information Center on the Rights of Women and Families) will lead a “Cape diversity” workshop; there Orientation House will offer mini-workshops on orientation with the Parcouréo tool (on tablets); THE CIBC (Interinstitutional Skills Assessment Center) will lead the workshop “Know how to present yourself in a professional situation and develop self-confidence”; an immersive discovery of professions with virtual reality headsets will be offered (more than 200 professions to choose from).

Young people will be able to discover the “Mini discovery courses” and the procedures to be carried out with the Lot consular chambers (CCI, Chamber of Trades and Crafts, Chamber of Agriculture).

In the “Entrepreneurship” area, the CCI du Lot will answer questions about starting a business.

This first “Orientation Night” in Lot will call for others.
