Bruno Bernard went this Thursday to the PIMMS Mediation of the United States, located in 8e district of Lyon. The president of the Metropolis of Lyon thus formalized in the morning the signing of a support agreement of €200,000, a commitment which reaffirms the support of the community “in favor of access to rights for all residents, particularly those in priority neighborhoods, in a context of progressive disengagement of the State in terms of public services.”

This “Multi Services Mediation Information Point”, known as PIMMS Médiation, is a network present throughout , whose main mission is to strengthen access to rights and public services, in particular for the most vulnerable populations. . These social mediation structures act as local relays, offering personalized support and solutions adapted to the needs of residents, ranging from help with administrative procedures to social mediation and the organization of digital learning workshops. PIMMS actively participate in the fight against precariousness and the reduction of inequalities in access to essential services.

The Métropole specifies that 67% of these users face difficulties linked to the use digital tools. The association thus offers support which is not limited to allowances, but also includes actions on mobility (in particular through the distribution of 1,500 TCL passes), fuel poverty and other essential aspects of daily life.

Strengthen the bond with residents

The Lyon Metropolis notes that this visit allowed its president to meet not only the teams of mediators who work on a daily basis, but also users of PIMMS Médiation. They testified to the importance of the support offered for years, emphasizing how these services contribute to improving their daily lives and strengthening social cohesion within their neighborhoods. “There are solutions that work, that are useful, and local authorities have a duty to defend and support these systems,” emphasized Bruno Bernard.

“Now more than ever, it is important to strengthen our connection with residents and support initiatives such as PIMMS Médiation, which play an essential role in social cohesion and access to rights. Our commitment demonstrates the desire of the Lyon Metropolis to stand alongside stakeholders on the ground to offer concrete and effective solutions, meeting the needs of all. »

This agreement is part of the city contract “Commitments Neighborhoods 2030”, which illustrates, according to the Métropole de Lyon, its determination to promote social inclusion and to compensate for the State's disengagement in public services.
