“We wanted space: we fled the sea for the countryside! » Today parents of two children, Coraline Rouillard, 28 years old, and Arthur Chrétien, 30 years old, left the seaside resort of Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (Loire-Atlantique) opposite Saint-Nazaire two years ago to settle in Saint-Aubin-le-Cloud, on the seven hectares of their new family cocoon at a place called “Les Grelières”. It was pure coincidence to find them in Gâtine… “We drew a radius of 200 km around Saint-Brevin and we arrived here after finding this house”recalls the receptionist at the Alexandra Palace in Mazières-en-Gâtine.
“We wanted space: we fled the sea for the countryside”
In the fall of 2023, they turned their lives around by simultaneously launching a German Shepherd breeder and a canine association. “We left everything behind for the dogs”smiles the former bodybuilder, who now dedicates his time to the breeding side. “We practice every day, especially adapting to the being in front of us”extends that which, although training in the pocket, was trained on the job.
On the association side, the first activities saw the light of day a year later, this summer of 2024, with hikes in Saint-Aubin-le-Cloud and Azay-sur-Thouet and a canicross in the Secondigny forest. The next one will take place on Sunday November 24 in the afternoon in Saint-Aubin with a collective walk for young dogs. “We want to organize an activity every month: our objective is to fight against the sedentary lifestyle of people and animals because there are dogs who never leave their gardenextends Arthur Chrétien. The association is to open us up to the outside world and it is an alternative to kennel clubs, particularly for those who do not have many means. We are not trainers, but we know how to work dogs. » The couple is looking for volunteers to duplicate the agility course that already exists on their property and is therefore looking for recycled materials and supplies.
