Last October, three men disappeared from Annecy (Haute-Savoie) without leaving a trace. A black series which had sown concern among residents of the region wondering about the temporal proximity between these three cases. However, although there is a strange common point between these 3 disappearances, namely that they all took place near Annecy-le-Vieux, nothing connects these investigations.
After several weeks of research and calls for witnesses launched by the gendarmes, the mystery surrounding these disappearances could well disappear. At least, for one of the three men. In fact, Michel R., the last one to disappear, was
found alive. An incredible discovery that no one expected.
Disappearances in Annecy: the third man found alive, what happened?
It was the Haute-Savoie gendarmerie who confirmed the information. Michel R., 52 years oldwas found safe and sound after several days of searching. The man mysteriously disappeared on October 23 while leaving his parents' home to go to a dentist appointment. But while his loved ones immediately called investigators, a phone call turned everything upside down.
According to our colleagues atODS Radioit was Michel R. himself who contacted his family after seeing the call for witnesses launched by the gendarmerie. Good news for those close to him, but questions remain unanswered. Indeed, investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances which led the fifty-year-old to leave the family home for several days without giving any sign of life.

Annecy: the body of one of the three missing men awaiting identification
If this disappearance has a happy ending, the two other disappearance cases have a more dramatic ending. On November 2, the lifeless body ofa man was found by hunters on the heights of Annecy-le-Vieux, at the Plan de Sagran, a particularly wooded and steep area. According to information from
Dauphiné Libéréit could be Florian C., aged around thirty.
Investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsy before asserting that it is indeed the body of Florian C.. However, clues could corroborate this hypothesis. Indeed, the remains were found not far from the place where the athlete had gone jogging on October 9, the day of his disappearance. A body that remains to be identified and one already identified.
Disturbing disappearances: the first person missing from Annecy found dead
This Monday, November 4, two days after the discovery of the body near Mont-Veyrier, that ofAlbert M., 89 years old, was found. Here again, the gendarmes confirmed that this was indeed the first person to disappear from Annecy. The octogenarian disappeared on October 2, 2024 when he planned to go shopping. His bag, a crucial clue in this affair, made it possible to find him.

It was around 10 a.m. in the Parc des Glaisins area in Annecy-le-vieux. The causes of Albert M.'s death still remain undetermined, our colleagues add. As the Annecy public prosecutor had specified, the three cases of disappearance therefore do not seem have nothing in common. Enough to reassure residents about the presence or not of a serial attacker.
