Thomas Campeaux has been prefect of Aisne since June 28, 2021. This Wednesday, November 6, 2024, he must be appointed prefect of Indre-et-Loire in the Council of Ministers by the President of the Republic. He will succeed Patrice Latron, whose departure for Reunion Island was announced on Thursday October 31, 2024.
Who is Thomas Campeaux?
Thomas Campeaux was born in 1975. Trained at Ena and graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, he has been a senior civil servant since 2002 and started as an auditor of the Council of State. He then served as sub-prefect in Meuse and then in Réunion between 2006 and 2012. He then joined the office of the Minister of the Interior, Bernard Cazeneuve, from 2015 to 2017 before his appointment to the Council of State, which he left for Aisne in 2021.
Recently, in October, he defended the Aisne departmental council by declaring in particular that “the Department goes into debt instead of the municipalities” according to The Uniona regional press title from the Grand Est.
