1.2 million euros seized from drug traffickers' car

It has been more than a year since investigators from the Anti-Narcotics Office (OFAST) sought to trace this network. On Monday, the immense work put in finally paid off. During a vast operation carried out this Monday, November 5, 14 people were arrested in , Bouches-du-Rhône and Île-de-. As a reward, the police had the pleasant surprise of coming across a huge sum of money in a vehicle intercepted in Bouches-du-Rhône. According to The Parisian1.2 million euros were discovered in the car belonging to drug traffickers.

And that's not all. During searches carried out in several apartments, investigators found more than 100,000 euros stashed here and there. According to our colleagues, citing corroborating sources, the money seized belonged to two “formidable Marseille criminal organizations” which seemed to have joined forces to launder money from drug trafficking.

Retailleau expected in Marseille

The two names mentioned are well known to drug services: the first is obviously the DZ Mafia, one of the most active gangs in the region and the Castellane clan.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau is expected in Marseille this Friday, where he will be accompanied by Justice Minister Didier Migaud.
