It's a kind of Meccano “, explains Laurent Blum, general manager of Schmidt Groupe.

They are also “multi-functional“, he specifies, “for example, our 'perfect island' allows you to cook as well as telework or make the children do their homework.“. Compared to traditional, custom-made Schmidt kitchens, the target is different : “These are what we call Millennials – those born from the 80s, editor's note – and urbanites. The purchasing process is also very different – we can go as far as 100% online”. In terms of price, “it's very core market. Excluding household appliances, a kitchen starts at around 2,500 euros, for example. And there are two big advantages: the cost of implementation is much lower, and the furniture has several lives since They’re moving with you.”
