A 24-year-old man lost his life in an accident while unloading wood to private homes in Saïx (81) this Wednesday morning.
It is a dramatic accident, the precise circumstances of which remain to be established, which occurred this Wednesday morning in the town of Saïx. A young man in his twenties lost his life while unloading wood at a private home.
The house, located on Chemin des Amoureux, a narrow road of a few hundred meters between the RN126 and the Sémalens road, is in a quiet corner, with little traffic. We are here at the exit of Castres, after the Mélou area, in the direction of Toulouse.

According to our information, it was the occupants of the house who notified the emergency services after finding the unfortunate person unconscious near his truck, without however having witnessed the scene. It is for this reason that the circumstances of the tragedy remain to be determined, during the gendarmerie investigation which is already underway.
What we know is that the young man, aged 24, from the Thoré valley, was delivering and unloading wood in the courtyard of the private home, alone, when his head fell. was struck, probably from the rear of the vehicle. Emergency services, which quickly arrived on the scene, were unable to save him.
The victim worked on the A69 construction site
This afternoon, La Dépêche was able to learn more about the context of this terrible accident. The victim worked for a service provider of the A69 motorway concessionaire, Atosca. He was delivering – free of charge – used equipment to local residents (wood, pallets, etc.).
Contacted by us, the dealer reacted as follows: “It is with immense sadness that we were informed of the fatal accident of a driver from a transport company who works as a transport service provider on the construction site of the A69 motorway The accident occurred after an unloading operation carried out at a local resident located in the town of Saix, outside the site area.
