Handball: the French team in demonstration in Orléans

Authors of a perfect start to the match, the Blues delighted in the first period against Sweden. They then managed their lead to win 37-31, this Wednesday, November 6, in front of 5,700 spectators at CO'Met.

We were expecting the French team for its first match after the disappointment of the Olympic Games. Guillaume Gille's players were present against Sweden, this Wednesday, November 6 in Orléans, in front of 5,700 spectators at CO'Met.

The French team relaunches in Orléans

Despite a new look team and Prandi's initial injury, the Blues were quick to show their good intentions and stifled the Swedes who only scored their first goal in the tenth minute! Effective in attack, they quickly led the score (10-1, 13th).

They put on a show

They then managed this gap by putting on a show with a few roucoulettes which delighted the Orléans public to reach the break with a ten-goal lead (21-11).

The second period was logically less successful against the Swedes who managed to limit the damage against a French team which rotated the squad. With a clear victory at the end (37-31) thanks in particular to the three best scorers: Descat (9), Briet (6) and Nahi (4).

Ludovic Fabregas satisfied

At the microphone of the team, Ludovic Fabregas expressed his joy after this victory. “We are very satisfied. We had very little preparation time with only one joint training session,” explained the new captain of the team. “We put the emphasis on attack and we scored 27 goals, that’s positive. After the Olympics, we really enjoyed playing again in France, I hope that was also the case with the public. It's a new team, a new generation. The responsibilities have been redistributed.

The French team will have to confirm this Saturday, November 9 (6:15 p.m.) in Stavanger, against Norway.
