Savoie: rail traffic interrupted the weekend of November 11 between Chambéry and Modane

SNCF network takes advantage of the long weekend of November 11 for an operation “massive” work as part of the -Turin construction site and the construction of the future international station of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. Train traffic will be completely interrupted between Chambéry and Modane from Friday November 8, 10:30 p.m. to Tuesday November 12, 8 p.m.pour “the construction of the Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne interconnection with the Mont-Cenis base tunnel”indicates SNCF network in a press release.

“This interruption will make it possible in particular to carry out preliminary work on railway signaling near the future Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne international station, as well as catenary work on a structure on the RD1006.” TELT the project owner will also take advantage of this to set up “several conveyor belts”, this equipment which allows materials and debris to be moved without the use of trucks, for the operational sites of the Mont-Cenis base tunnel.

Bus de substitution

Replacement coaches will be put in place for the canceled TER trains. All information is available on the TER AURA website, at the station and from ALLO TER on 09 69 32 21 41 (non-premium rate call). “These operations can cause noise pollution and an increase in vehicle traffic (…) the SNCF Réseau teams and the companies present on the site are doing everything possible to reduce them as much as possible.”
