In a desire to respond quickly and efficiently to the problem of school harassment and the challenges it represents for the minors concerned, their safety and their education, this cell composed of a delegate from the Prosecutor, a professional from the Department and staff from National Education aims to intervene quickly in middle and high schools where a situation of harassment is detected.
The primary objective of this unit is, on the one hand, to put an end to the offense and, on the other hand, to restore a peaceful situation in the school environment in order tointervene as early and as accurately as possible in these harassment situations.
These are:
- End the harassment situation detected by National Education by working with the minor in question and those responsible;
- Ensure the protection of the minor victim by psychological care ;
- Take the situation into account in a multidisciplinary manner so that, in parallel with public action, a educational and academic approach.
The Amiens Public Prosecutor's Office and the Academic Directorate of National Education Services have each identified three reference professionals. The Somme Department has assigned a professional social worker to intervene in the situations reported by the heads of the Somme colleges and high schools in the Hauts-de-France region. The Region contributes 50% of the costs related to this position.
This action is part of the implementation of the plan to evaluate and combat school bullying and school violence in the Hauts-de-France Region. The Somme Departmental Council stands out for its mobilization of student ambassadors and the organization of awareness-raising actions “Harassment: prevention is better!” ». These actions were recently awarded national awards for their innovative nature.
Also in connection with the national day against school bullying on November 7, the Hauts-de-France Region, in partnership with the two Rectorates, the DRAAF (academic authority for regional agricultural education) and the City of Saint- Quentin, organized on November 6 the first regional conferences on the fight against school bullying.
