Following the passage of the depression Kirk having reached hexagon on October 8, 2024 and caused significant flooding, the state of natural disaster was recognized in several French departments. 44 municipalities are concerned in the department of Loire-Atlantique.
Loire-Atlantique: natural disaster in 44 municipalities
The municipalities of Cordemais, Saint-André-des-Eaux, Treillières et Vigneux-de-Bretagne were impacted by the damage and flooding linked to the passage of Storm Kirk in France in October, during the period October 16 to 20, 2024according to the order in the Official Journal of October 31, 2024.
These four municipalities complete a first list of the 40 municipalities previously listed by the Official Journal of October 23, 2024.
State recognition of affected municipalitiesallows the residents concerned toinitiate damage reporting procedures suffered at the town hall and declare the nature to their insurer.
The first 40 municipalities recognized
A first decree of October 23, 2024 recognizing the state of natural disaster on the period from October 8 to 13, 2024listed these 40 communes directly affected as well:
Basse-Goulaine; La Bernerie-en-Retz; Bouaye; Carquefou; La Chapelle-sur-Erdre; Chaumes-en-Retz; Bald ; Corsept; Coueron; Donges; Frossay; La Haie-Fouassière; Line; Loireauxence ; Machecoul-Saint-Meme; Mésanger; Les Moutiers-en-Retz; Mouzeil; Orvault; Oudon; Pannecé ; La Plaine-sur-Mer; Pornic; Rezé; Roans; Saint-Aignan-de-Grandlieu; Saint-Brevin-les-Pins; Saint-Hilaire-de-Chaléons; Saint-Léger-les-Vignes, Saint-Mars-du-Désert; Saint-Michel-Chef-Chief; Saint-Père-en-Retz; Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu; Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire; Saint-Viaud; Sainte-Pazanne; Sautron; Teillé ; Villeneuve-en-Retz and View.
