taken as an example in the Senate

Last August, a memorandum of understanding relating to the treatment of offenses and attacks against elected officials was signed. The senator and president of the association of rural mayors of Jean-Marie Mizzon questioned the Minister of the Interior on this subject during a public session in the Senate.

The senator and president of the association of rural mayors of Moselle Jean-Marie Mizzon questioned the Minister of the Interior regarding the legal arsenal making it possible to fight effectively and quickly against this problem, asking for support for the promotion of this protocol via a media campaign. The government gave its support during the public session on November 5.

51 complaints filed by elected officials in 2023, and around ten recorded in 2024. Faced with an increase in violence and offenses, a protocol was signed a few months ago, in order to facilitate certain points when an elected official faces violence or infractions.

The protocol was presented to the Senate this Tuesday, November 5. An information campaign should see the light of day shortly. The senator expects this measure to be implemented fairly quickly.
