A new drama has just taken place this Tuesday, November 5 in the English Channel. Two bodies were recovered by the Cross Gris Nez services off the coast of Calais. It was a ferry that raised the alarm after seeing a corpse adrift. Le Cross engaged the public service patrol boat, the Cormoran of the French Navy on site as well as the boat of the maritime and port security platoon of the Calais maritime gendarmerie.
According to the Boulogne-sur-Mer Prosecutor, the two bodies spent several days in the water
Early in the afternoon, the Cormoran located two bodies adrift. The two deceased people were picked up and dropped off at the dock in Calais. The bodies of the two victims were taken care of by the maritime gendarmerie.
An investigation is opened by the Boulogne-sur-Mer public prosecutor's office. The public prosecutor of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Guirec le Bras, specifies that it is a question of “the discovery of the two bodies at sea suggests a presence in the water for at least several days.” Forensic investigations will therefore be carried out. The Prosecutor specifies that checks will be made to find out if these bodies can be linked to shipwrecks that have already occurred.
During the night from Monday to Tuesday, the Cross came to the aid of a boat in difficulty off the coast of Audresselles… All the passengers on board (51) were rescued and dropped off at the quay in Boulogne sur Mer.
