A road accident involving a heavy goods vehicle and two cars occurred this Monday morning, around 7:30 a.m., on national road 21 near Cancon, in Lot-et-Garonne, according to information fromActu.fr.
The truck, loaded with 44 tonnes of big bags, hit the two light vehicles. Emergency services immediately treated three people injured in the cars: a 42-year-old man, another 26-year-old and a 24-year-old woman. As the injuries were considered minor, the victims were evacuated for further treatment.
Fall of a tank of diesel and interrupted traffic
During the impact, a pick-up carrying a 300 liter tank of diesel, at the head of the convoy, lost its cargo in a nearby ditch. Although the tank neither leaked nor was damaged, it was taken care of by a specialist company to avoid any further risks.
The collision led to an interruption of traffic in both directions on this section of the RN21, an important road for New Aquitaine. After the intervention of the emergency services, traffic was gradually restored on a single lane, under the vigilance of the police to guarantee the safety of users.
