Joël Mathurin, prefect of Puy-de-Dôme, has always said since his arrival in the department that he wanted to reduce the number of offenses and accidents by showing more “blue on the edges of the roads”. He therefore launched a new large-scale “Blue Routes” operation on the occasion of the All Saints’ Day long weekend, mobilizing nearly 650 gendarmes and police officers from the department.
A total of 172 control operations were carried out and 1,170 infractions were noted.

Speed for 40% of offenses

Speeding constitutes almost half of the offenses recorded with 40%.
