Suspected of mistreatment, the two private micro-crèches will remain closed in

The two private micro-crèches in Villers-aux-Nœuds (), closed by the Department on October 16, due to suspicion of mistreatment of children, will keep their doors closed.

The establishments had requested the suspension of this decision before the administrative court of Châlons-en-Champagne this Monday, November 4, 2024. The lawyer notably pleaded the lack of solutions for parents “to entrust their children”as well as the financial difficulties to which the company and its seven employees were exposed.

He also contested the accusations of violence targeting the two structures, opposing “fifteen certificates from parents in support of the crèche and its team”reports The Union .

“Serious dysfunctions”

These arguments did not convince the judge hearing the summary proceedings, who rejected the request, considering that there were sufficient elements which “establish the existence of serious malfunctions incompatible with the safety of children” .

As a reminder, these two nurseries were targeted by a three-month administrative closure following several reports which led, initially, to a reduction in the number of children welcomed between September 16 and October 16.

“Acts of mistreatment”

The president of the Marne departmental council then decided to impose a heavier sanction, denouncing a series of“acts of physical, psychological abuse and (of) neglect”. These facts, reported by employees, include in particular: “attempted shaking with risk of shaken baby syndrome”, « humiliation », “food deprivation” et “lack of care”described a Department press release, relayed by 3 .
