After two generations, Levallet Fleurs hands over

Established for two generations in Couternedelegated municipality of Rives-d’Andaine (Orne) Levallet Flowers just changed ownership on October 15, 2024.

“I am happy to have a successor, that the brand continues and that nothing changes,” confides Philippe Levallet, former boss.

Holder of a diploma prepared in , this native of Couterne began his career as an apprentice at the age of 14. At 27, he became a family caregiver and joined the business created by his parents Léa and Michel Levallet in 1960. His mother was in the store while his father was in horticulture. At home, several generations have bought everything related the flower or the tree.

Back in his native town, this horticulturist, who does not know the world of flowers, is trained by Christelle, a florist employee. “I have worked here since 1989,” he confides. I will remain helping until June to carry out the handover, very smoothly, for customers.”

Friday, November 15, at 6 p.m., he invites his customers to a drink to introduce his successor. Philippe Levallet plans to enjoy his retirement with his family.

New boss

Originally from Ernée in Mayenne, and living in Antoigny, Mickaël Simon takes over the business.

“I keep the sale of flowers and the exploitation of plants, through the ten or so greenhouses run in particular by Sonia, present for 28 years, for the horticulture part, as well as the sale of trees”.

He continues to ensure the cleaning of graves, the placement of chrysanthemums, deliveries, and the market on Thursdays in La Ferté-Macé, adding Monday mornings in Briouze. “The name Levallet Fleurs remains, and becomes a Limited Liability Company,” explains Tanguy Simon who will take care of management and accounting.

After completing his CAP in landscaping in , Mickaël Simon completed internships in flowers in the region. Then, he changed path, becoming a family caregiver in his father's masonry business.

He then set out on his own, creating a multi-service business with garden maintenance. “I learned in July that Levallet Fleurs was for sale. Of course, Christelle and Sonia stay.”
