The “Graffiti Jam” adventure continues

For the second year in a row, a “Graffiti Jam”, a group of graffiti artists, was organized at the -de-Lempre bowling alley.

As part of a project supported by the municipality, Cédric Gay, whose reputation is well established, invited around twenty graffiti artists from all over , to decorate the interior of one of the two fields pétanque, i.e. a surface area of 350 m². Throughout the weekend, the artists gave free rein to their imagination to create monumental frescoes on the four sides of the field.

The paintings cover various themes: animals, plants, portraits, the tallest measuring up to 7 m high. We also find the symbol of pétanque in several places and a nod to Champagnac with the church.

A new fresco will be imagined next year

Fans of Joli Pignet will no longer recognize their emblematic place because the transformation is so impressive. The fine lines, the bright colors, the expressive look of the portraits are strikingly real. Of course, depending on everyone's tastes, we like it or we don't like it. However, we cannot deny the undeniable talent of these young artists, some of whom have worked for the Principality of Monaco or on monuments in the capital. Graffiti is an art in its own right, it is developing more and more in the daily landscape and is part of the era of time. At the will of the mayor, Gilles Rios, this type of event tends to create a dynamic in the town, but also intergenerational and cultural meetings. The friendly aspect was provided by the festival committee, which provided reception and refreshments on both days, the Saturday evening was hosted by three rap groups from Clermont.

Next year, Cédric and his friends have agreed to cover the walls of the second field, a new stage in the development of heritage.
