The municipal council of Villeneuve-en-Retz (-Atlantique) validated the rental of space in the town hall annex of Fresnay-en-Retz to install a nursing office managed by the Machecoul-Saint-Meme healthcare center.

This structure already operates in the municipal sector in addition to the two offices already existing.

The nurses of Bourgneuf draw attention to the importance of this decision, because they lose their rights to bill their mileage allowances when they travel to Fresnay-en-Retz.

The Social security requires any home nurse to bill their kilometers from the nearest practice.

Heavy loads

Magali Lechat et Claudie Odiespokespersons for their colleagues, indicate that this installation therefore results in “a financial loss jeopardizing the sustainability of their offices”.

These professionals affirm that they will of course continue to travel to Saint-Cyr and Fresnay as long as they can.

“We are investing in the community by offering at-home and prevention activities via the Villeneuve Sant'Retz association,” they would like to point out.

The care center in “a logic of care”

The director of the Machecoul health center, Laïla Legsayerdoes not understand the concern of the existing nurses: “We have been practicing for several years in the town of Fresnay. This center meets needs in this area. Indeed, from the moment we set up in Fresnay, these nurses lose their compensation. But we are in a logic of careno money. »

The municipality indicates for its part that “the nurses coming from Machecoul were already working, even before settling in the town”, without further comment.
