A serious accident took place this Sunday at the Agen racecourse, in Lot-et-Garonne, according to information from'Actu.fr. Shortly before 4 p.m., rescue teams were urgently dispatched following a fall from a horse involving a young 22-year-old rider.
The situation proved to be critical as soon as the rescuers arrived, because the victim had a ventilatory arrest, requiring emergency interventions on the ground. The emergency planning system (DSP) teams, present to ensure the safety of the events, managed to temporarily restore the rider's breathing, giving her an additional chance before the firefighters arrived.
Transfer to a specialized hospital
Faced with the seriousness of her injuries, the doctors made the decision to transfer the young woman to the Pellegrin hospital in Bordeaux for intensive care, with the support of the Smur d'Agen. Despite the rapid response and the significant resources deployed, the rider's state of health remained worrying and unstable at the time of her transport.
Health professionals are now monitoring his progress closely, hoping that early intervention and transfer to a specialized care center will help improve his condition.
