The return to active life after two weeks of vacation, this Monday, November 4, undoubtedly plunged many northernersin the fog. And we're not just talking about a difficult awakening: it was difficult to see the sky for a good part of the morning in the – Pas-de-. The fog was denseparticularly inland, and Météo Nord announces a similar morning for Tuesday, November 5. Caution, especially for those who take the road, by car or two-wheeler.

Fog especially in the lands of Nord-Pas-de-Calais Tuesday morning and probably in the evening

On a map, the phenomenon of which is captured around 10 a.m. this Monday, we can clearly see the areas (in brown, above) affected by these fog banks, which will be the same this Tuesday, November 5. From Flanders to the Côte d'Opale, but also around Béthune and Calais, residents risk not seeing much. The sky should be a little clearer near Lille, , , and the northern coast.

In contrast to Monday, the sun will be less present: the fog will dissipate to give way to grayness (but more visibility!). Be careful, once again, in the evening, when the mist may return to the region, and again Wednesday, November 6 in the morning.

Small technical point: fog is the suspension in the atmosphere of very small droplets of water. “It is in fact a cloud whose base touches the ground,” summarizes Météo France. For fog to form, the water vapor contained in the air on the ground must therefore condense into water droplets and the wind must not be “neither too strong to avoid the dispersion of the water droplets, nor too weak to allow their suspension in the air.
