A judicial investigation was opened following the death of a 21-year-old young man in front of the Mille Club nightclub in Bernolsheim, on the night of Friday October 31. The tragedy took place in the parking lot after a Halloween party for which the establishment had created a set of decorations. The two suspects, from Strasbourg, are aged 18 and 20. The first surrendered to the authorities and the second was arrested. Both are brought before the investigating judge.
The indictment was requested by the prosecutor. For the first suspect for murder by a person while intoxicated and driving without a license and for complicity in aggravated murder for the second suspect. The investigation was entrusted to the Haguenau research brigade. The autopsy on the victim's body must be carried out this Monday, November 4.
The facts took place during a Halloween evening entitled “Autopsy” organized by the Mille Club of Bernolsheim. It was in the parking lot of this 1,500 square meter establishment that the tragedy described as “single scene of violence” by the Strasbourg public prosecutor’s office. Shortly before five o'clock in the morning, the Bas-Rhin firefighters intervened to rescue the victim, without success. THE stab wound to the chest was fatal to him. He died on the spot.
A witness to the scene confides, “thatThere was a lot of noise, we could hear people moving around in the parking lot, I particularly remember the sound of windows. (…) It's a place where we come to party, we shouldn't get to that point.”
This nightclub employee specifies that at the time of the tragedy, “the staff started counting the boxes. At one point, I received a text message explaining that someone had died in the box.”
Speaking to our AFP colleagues, the mayor of Bernolsheim Jean-Marc Diersé said he deplored this “drama”. “It's a place where I can't say that we've had any particular problems lately.” he said.
An online petition was published over the weekend, calling for the closure of the Mille Club for “public safety reasons”. “Frequent fights, regular overloads and disturbances to public order”, are notably mentioned there. It has nearly 1,000 signatures.
On social networks, users describe scenes of violence or aggression, difficulties moving within the establishment and a lack of security during this Halloween evening.
The managers of the Mille Club have communicated their “immense sadness”. “Our thoughts are with the family of the victim to whom we send our support and our most sincere thoughts.”The closure of the venue until further notice was also announced.
