Lebanon – Sending emergency humanitarian aid by (November 1 (…)

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs today delivered nearly 30 tonnes of humanitarian aid for the benefit of the Lebanese civilian population, including solar lamps provided by the NGO Electriciens sans frontières, tents, blankets and other essential goods. This sending is a first concrete translation of the commitments made by the President of the Republic during the International Conference in support of the population and the sovereignty of Lebanon which was held on October 24 in , and which made it possible to mobilize the international community in favor of a massive and urgent humanitarian response to the crisis Lebanon is going through. Faced with the consequences of the war, the participants in the Conference responded to the appeal of the United Nations and announced aid of one billion dollars, including 800 million in humanitarian aid and 200 million to support the security forces of Lebanon . has committed to mobilizing 100 million euros and deploying 100 tonnes of humanitarian freight.

France thanks the European Union for setting up this flight which made it possible to deliver French aid. The cargo was handed over to two French NGOs and a Lebanese NGO, humanitarian partners of France and fully operational for the emergency response in Lebanon.

Ahead of the Conference on October 24, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs had already carried out two operations to send humanitarian cargo to Lebanon, including one in cooperation with Qatar. Nearly 40 tonnes of medicines, medical equipment and other essential goods were delivered to Lebanese hospitals and international and local humanitarian NGOs.

The Conference underlined the urgency of a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel and a diplomatic settlement based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which will ensure the security of populations and peace. safe return of displaced people to their homes, both in Lebanon and Israel.
