Morhad Amdouni, French marathon record holder, accused of violence and rape by his wife

According to the newspaper Le Parisien, French athlete Morhad Amdouni is accused of violence by his wife. The European 10,000m champion is summoned before the Meaux criminal court to answer for these facts. An investigation is at the same time opened against him for suspicion of rape.

Morhad Amdouni is in turmoil. The French marathon record holder and European 10,000m champion is accused of violence and rape by his wife. According to information revealed by the newspaper The Parisian the 36-year-old French athlete is summoned before the criminal court of Meaux (Seine-et-Marne) on February 24, 2025, at 1:15 p.m., to answer for violence committed against his spouse resulting in total incapacity of work less than eight days.

Parallel investigation

According to the Parisian newspaper, the athlete was arrested on September 18, at his home, by the Lagny-sur-Marne police officers, after a domestic dispute during which his wife claimed to have been the victim of an attempted strangulation under their son's eyes. The athlete was placed in police custody for these facts which he disputes. He is nevertheless being prosecuted for alleged acts of violence which took place between September 2023 and September 2024.

At the same time, the athlete is the subject of an investigation opened by the Meaux public prosecutor's office for assault and rape committed against his partner.
