In this town of Seine-Saint-Denis, the town hall offers 600 fruit trees to residents

The town of (Seine-Saint-Denis) is mobilizing for the environment and greening. As recounted News Sunday November 3, 2024, she decided to renew her operation which consists of offering fruit trees to residents. In total, 600 trees will be distributed on November 16 and 17.

Last March, the City had already donated more than 360 fruit trees. On its website, it specifies that “this second operation is only open to Drancéans who have not already benefited from a tree offered by the city, with the exception of those who have seen their tree die”. The donation is limited to one tree per property.

“The presence of trees in the city is essential”

To participate, residents must reserve their tree online before November 13 at 12 p.m. They must live in a pavilion with a garden in Drancy, choose a tree adapted to their land, sign a charter of commitment… The trees offered by the town hall are at least three years old and measure around two meters high.

Questioned by our colleagues, the mayor of the city Aude Lagarde recalled that “the presence of trees in the city is essential” because it represents a “pillar in the fight against the effects of climate change” as well as a “refuge for biodiversity” and that it also contributes “to create islands of freshness”.
