Geneviève*, lives near the footbridge which spans the railway between Boulevard de Verdun and the University Hospital. She sees the traffic on this pedestrian bridge from her window and today admits to having changed her habits so as not to come home too late in the evening, for fear of an attack.

There have already been attacks here, at the exit of the Anatole France metro, including a young man who was traumatized.” remembers this retiree.

The tragedy that unfolded last night, and the death of a 19-year-old young man, does not leave her indifferent: “we are upset. When it happens in our neighborhood, we are even more affected” she admits.

The turn of events worries all residents of this downtown area, to the point that some are now considering moving. “Owe fear… we fear for us and for the young people who come home late at night” testifies this resident.
